Community Involvement

Sacred Heart School for the Arts strives to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and schools. SHSA offers programs, performances and educational opportunities that connect diverse groups with our artistic resources.

Louisville Youth Choir

In 2007, SHSA welcomed the renowned Louisville Youth Choir as artists in residence. Louisville Youth Choir, a nonprofit arts organization, was established in 1967 to create a passion for singing among young people. LYC annually draws around 100 youth from throughout the metropolitan area. Its musical repertoire includes many styles and cultures, including major classics and modern works, often performed with soloists and orchestras.

Open auditions are held seasonally, and weekly rehearsals culminate in more than five public performances annually. The Choir’s goal is to enhance musical education and performance experiences for students throughout the region and currently includes students from approximately 40 area public, private and Catholic schools.

School Performances

SHSA offers weekday performances of productions for area schools. At a time when many schools are cutting back on arts programming, a trip to our Ursuline Arts Center is an outstanding opportunity to expose your students to the power and wonder of live theatre and the arts.

Tickets for school matinee performances are $6.

One free chaperone/adult ticket is allotted for every ten student tickets purchased. Additional adult tickets are $10.

When booking, you can provide an estimate for the total number of seats you will need; adjustments can be made up to two weeks prior to your performance date.
