Dance

The robust SHSA dance program provides a ballet-based curriculum with additional emphasis on tap, modern, and jazz techniques. Sacred Heart School for the Arts faculty create a nurturing, yet professional and concentrated environment where dancers from ages three and up are encouraged to explore their potential.

As a performance-based school, our dance students have three opportunities to perform in full-length ballets in our historic auditorium, the Ursuline Arts Center. In December, SHSA presents the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, featuring dance students from the Louisville community. This traditional show with a twist incorporates ballet, tap, hip-hop, and Bollywood dance styles to create a magical and inspiring performance. The SHSA Dance Showcase is held each April and in May, SHSA produces a storybook ballet, in which all enrolled dance students participate.

All classes at Sacred Heart School for the Arts are open to the community. Many of our classes and studio lesson slots fill quickly, so please don't wait to register.
